Victorian Ladies’ Bespoke Dressmaker Shoppe

Nina Fair , 2022

This small Victorian ladies’ dressmaker’s shop used to be the uppermost floor of my Victorian Ladies’ Shoppe, but outgrew the space allotted for it.  It features a special sewing storage cabinet with an antique style sewing machine, thread and fabric cabinets, and sewing notions.  This could have been part of a larger “full-service” apparel shop at the turn of the last century.  Most of the pieces are handmade, including the lovely Victorian blue and white striped dress.  The small dolls are from 1983’s Franklin Mint’s ‘Ladies of Fashion” collection.

Most pieces are artisan made, but not signed.  Four small dolls are Franklin Mint "Ladies of Fashion" from 1983.
