This small vignette is called The Pottery Wheel, and depicts one wall inside an imagined pottery shop. The 12″ by 8″ container was actually made to be a shadowbox for a little store, and has a glass panel on the top to let in light, as well as a glass front panel. Virtually every piece in this shop was artisan made, including the low dresser and chair. They are examples of some of my favorite miniature artists’ work, including Jane Graber, Alex Miekeljohn, Eileen Vernon, Jim Clark, Redwing Pottery, Sugar Loaf Pottery and Kim Schrum.
Besides miniatures, I also love primitive and vintage pottery, so this collection combines the two nicely, and is a compact way to display the pieces.
