My husband has a wooden plaque stating that he is eligible to wear a ten-gallon hat, because he was born in Texas. Although he didn’t grow up there, he has always been proud of his Texas beginnings. In more recent years, he decided to follow his 1950’s cowboy passion by getting a horse and learning to ride. At some point, he came across this handmade wooden stable at an auction, but it wound up just sitting in our basement for a while. I got the idea to turn it into a stable reminiscent of a mid-20th century western style building for his birthday, complete with old posters on the sides, and lots of equine gear. There is a neat handmade wagon wheel bench, and a battery powered lantern. And because it is in Texas, there is even an armadillo in the tack room section.
The horse is a Breyer product, and most of the other pieces are handmade, although I don’t know most of the artists’ names.
