This room box is a very large old wooden crate filled with a very tired Santa, Mrs. Claus, some elves and lots of toys that have already been made for next Christmas. Santa has just returned home to the North Pole on Christmas Eve, after his reindeer flew him all around the world in his sleigh to deliver this year’s Christmas gifts. He is relaxing – well, falling asleep – in front of the fire, while Mrs. Claus stands by a table on which she just set down some snacks for Santa. The elves still seem to have some energy and are trying to tidy up the work area.
I painted, antiqued and decorated most of the wooden furniture pieces in here, and made some of the accessories, but the majority are commercially made items with a few artisan pieces. Unfortunately, I don’t know the names of the artists.
I keep this on display year-round since it seems a shame to only set it out during the holidays. That’s the beauty of miniatures – they don’t take up a lot of room, and you can enjoy them all the time.
