Years ago my husband gave me an unfinished wooden book box to decorate, because of my love of crafting. I turned it into the book “Emma” by Jane Austen, painted, antiqued, lettered and decoupaged, and added a dark green felt liner. After using it to store mementos, I decided to turn it into a book nook type room box for a half-scale (1:24) scene. One of my favorite rooms to portray is a kitchen, so this became an 18th century style kitchen diorama/vignette.
There are a few artisan pieces in here, but I only know the name of the artist of the utensil set hanging on the right wall – Judy Berman. I know the picnic basket on the shelf was handmade, too. A few of the items came from my stash of minis from when I was a child. The teacart is a vintage Petite Princess dollhouse piece and the stove is actually an old plastic 3-D magnet.
