Canning Kitchen, Farm Style ca. 1930’s

Nina Fair , 2021

This room box is named the Canning Kitchen, because it features a prep table for canning.  The year I made this, we had decided to try canning fruits and vegetables ourselves, only with slightly more modern equipment.  This rustic scene could be from around the 1930’s, although there are some pieces of miniature “Tupperware” in here. (Tupperware was invented in 1946.) There are a number of artisan made pieces, including some of the furniture and most of the pottery.  Everything is inside an old wooden wine bottle gift crate.

Most of the pottery is by Jane Graber, the table is by Rita Holcombe, the jelly cupboard is by Jim Gans, the bench is by Sir Thomas Thumb, the birch bark bowl is by Brian Hart, the boots hanging on the chair are by Amy Robinson, and I painted most of the other furniture pieces.
