Nestled in an 11″ by 8″ wooden box, this is a scene of what I imagined an English gentleman’s living room around the mid-20th century, and features art objects he might have picked up on his travels. There is his nautical collection as well as various pieces of unusual pottery and woodware, and he also has a stamp collection album on his side table. And, his faithful dog is sitting by his side, while he reads a good book, smokes a pipe and enjoys some Scotch.
There are a number of artisan pieces, as well as some French feves, which fit perfectly into a miniature setting. I painted the lighthouse plate on the wall and made the framed citation on the right wall in honor of my father, who loved maritime things, and was an engineer.
