This room box was created in a large, very old wooden crate, big enough to feature two room areas. It is nearly two feet long and over one foot high. The scene is set during the 19th century, and I have a doll in there dressed appropriately. The kitchen on the left is mostly in shades of barn red and brown, while the fireplace area on the right is mostly in colonial blues. I painted and aged most of the furniture, including the blue fireplace, and I added some floral motifs on the red hutch and the settle bench. I also put together the flower basket on the settee in front of the blue fireplace and painted two of the vases on the larger dark blue hutch, which is a Reutter piece. Most of the accessories are artisan made, although not all are signed, and I don’t know who made those.
There are many neat pottery items, and a few less common items, like a tiny ship in a bottle, a Toby mug and a cranberry scoop, plus a tasty spread of food which were all handmade.
