This quiet little corner of a room is called the book nook, and comes complete with some nice restful things to do, such as a bookcase full of reading materials and a basket of knitting in progress on the chair. The black rocking chair, footstool, side table and tray on the wall are all artisan tole painted and signed, although I don’t know who the artist is. This scene happened to be made at Christmas time, so there is a tiny tree in a crate decoration in front of the bookcase, and a cute little Pomeranian dog sits waiting for its owner to settle down in the chair. The container used is an antique wooden cigar box with an attached lid.
